Down to the last days...

After months of staying at home, lazing, cooking, playing and slacking, not to mention enjoying the presence of family members, preparations are now in order.
My oyster sauce chicken drumsticks.

My daydreaming sister... but don't be fooled, she plays killer table tennis.

Preparations mean... travelling. Allow me to introduce Miri Airport.

One of the more affordable (and hence, frequently fully booked) places to stay in central accessible KL is Cititel Mid Valley.

Photos taken on the way (BTW, each of the past 3 times I headed to LCCT, I saw SIA planes)
My favourite plane... actually the only choice I have with AirAsia. A320.

Welcome to Sri Cempaka Service Suites, Cheras. (Yes, Cititel MidValley was fully booked.)

While waiting for my turn at the visa centre, I took a walk to KLCC, in the "spirit of Merdeka". One thing about the visa centre. It's the only place I've seen with counter staff that are males. Thank God I dealt with the two friendlier ones.

Anyway, KLCC...

I also celebrated successfully waiting for my turn at visa by indulging in a Chocolate Indulgence over at Secret Recipe.

All Things

Time passes in moments ... moments which, rushing past, define the path of a life just as surely as they lead towards its end. How rarely do we stop to examine that path, to see the reasons why all things happen, to consider whether the path we take in life is our own making or simply one into which we drift with eyes closed.

But what if we could stop, pause to take stock of each precious moment before it passes? Might we then see the endless forks in the road that have shaped a life? And, seeing those choices, choose another path?

What if there was only one choice and all the other ones were wrong? And there were signs along the way to pay attention to... And all the choices would then lead to this very moment. One wrong turn, and......

Practising photography... miles above sea level.

I was surprised to realise that I have never taken an evening plane flight before. This round on the way back from Kuching, my dad and I were in MAS business class because we were both in a hurry to get back to Miri. After sampling some of the in-flight catering, I saw the sunset and, obviously, decided to snap a few. The first and second are the best, I think.

This picture down here was, well, the worst failure. But I beg forgiveness on behalf of the cabin window.... :P

UNIMAS Tour

When I was in Kuching, I went to visit Sung Sung and Fui Lin in UNIMAS. Their uni campus was not far from where I was staying with my dad. I must say that the campus and buildings were not bad, and the scenery too... On the days I visited, I was struck by wonder at the magnificent view of the lake and the lovely cloud formations, which I had never noticed in Miri before. However, appearances can be deceiving, as I found out when I visited their rooms. Well, maybe I am biased after living in HCIBS.

Check this out:

This could be a postcard (the one on the left). Just look at those clouds!

Another pretty nice view.

Changi Airport...

I hope I can visit this airport again...
